Drake MacFarlane

Drake is the Creative Director of and a contributor to Arbitror. He is a native Oregonian and a firm believer in the Cascadian independence movement. Drake graduated Summa Cum Laude from Lewis & Clark College in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in economics and international affairs and a minor in French.

He recently worked as a research assistant for Professor Kyle Lascurettes at Lewis & Clark. Drake has previously interned at both non-profits and for-profit firms in marketing, business development and data analysis. He has also spent a semester in Strasbourg, France studying—as well as teaching English—at the University of Strasbourg. Drake has spent every day since plotting his return to the European continent, with or without an army at his back.

Drake specializes in U.S. foreign policy, environmental economics and the Middle East. Drake has intensively studied the impact of economic policy on developing nations, particularly in regards to the environment and scarce resources. He also has extensively researched the history of great power politics and global order building institutions.

When Drake’s nose isn’t in a book, he enjoys writing pseudo-intellectual fiction, drawing poorly, and recreational stegophily.
